Black Box Planning

Healthcare, Education & Community

We support the delivery of schools, healthcare facilities, community buildings and public infrastructure through practical, strategic planning advice.

Planning for Essential Community Infrastructure

Healthcare, education and community infrastructure are fundamental to creating places that work. We plan for these uses both as individual developments and as part of larger strategic sites, where schools, healthcare, community facilities and other essential services need to grow alongside new homes.

We work with NHS Trusts across the country, alongside Local Authorities and specialist providers including Guardtech Cleanrooms, Atiform and Advance Housing and Support. Our experience ranges from hospitals, healthcare facilities and specialist medical environments to schools and community buildings. At Filwood Community Centre, our work with Bristol City Council included extensive community engagement, with our Senior Planner Elisabeth Lucas working directly with local residents through workshops to help shape proposals around the needs and ambitions of the community.

On larger residential and mixed-use developments, our role extends beyond housing. We help plan for the schools, healthcare provision and community facilities needed to support growing populations, ensuring this infrastructure is considered as an integral part of the wider planning strategy from the outset.

Whether delivering a specialist standalone facility or planning for the needs of an entirely new community, we bring together planning policy, operational requirements and local need to help create places that can function and thrive for the long term.
